PATCH CORD INDOOR

Fiber optic patch cord, also known as fiber patch cable or jumper cable, is a short optical fiber cable with a connector at each end. The type of connector at each end of the patch cord can be the same or different.

Fiber patch cords are used to connect the fiber optic patch panel to the network switch. They provide interconnect and cross-connect capabilities in various applications such as remote communication rooms, data centers, etc. They support Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and high-speed fiber optic connections in various fiber types including OM4, OM3, OM2, OM1, or OS1/OS2. Each is used for its specific functions.

These patch cords should be selected according to the type of fiber optic being used; for example, single-mode patch cords for single-mode fiber and multi-mode patch cords for multi-mode fiber (SM-MM OM1, OM2, OM3, OM4).

Patch cords come with various types of connectors installed at the factory, such as MT, LC, SC, ST, and VF-45. Some patch cords have different connectors on each end, depending on the application.

Types of connectors include SC/SC, SC/LC, LC/LC, FC/FC, SC/FC, ST/ST, and more. Patch cords are often highly flexible and durable, making them easy to use and less prone to breakage.

The length of these patch cords is usually 1, 2, 3, 5, or 10 meters.

Patch cords can have either the same type of connector on both ends or different types. In the latter case, they are referred to by the connector types on each end, such as FC-LC or FC-SC.

In Iran, these connectors are commonly referred to as Farhad (FC), Sara (SC), and Leila (LC) for convenience.
