A fiber optic patch cord, also known as a fiber patch cable or jumper cable, is a short fiber optic cable with a connector at each end. The type of connector at each end of the patch cord may be different or the same.

We use fiber optic patch cords to connect between fiber optic patch panels and network switches.

Fiber optic patch cords enable interconnect and cross-connect connections in various applications such as remote communication rooms, data centers, etc. They are available to meet the needs of Gigabit Ethernet, 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and high-speed fiber optic connections in various types of fiber, including OM4, OM3, OM2, and OM1 or OS1/OS2. However, each type is used for its specific functions.

These patch cords should be selected according to the type of fiber optic; for example, single-mode patch cords for single-mode fiber and multi-mode patch cords for multi-mode fiber. SM-MM (OM1, OM2, OM3, OM4)

Fiber optic patch cords come with various connectors that are factory-installed, such as MT, LC, SC, ST, VF-45, depending on the application. In some patch cords, the connectors at one end may be different from those at the other end.

Types of connectors include:
– Sc/sc
– Sc/lc
– Lc/lc
– Fc/fc
– Sc/fc
– St/st
– And others

For various applications, such as SC to LC patch cords, they usually have very high flexibility and are not easily broken.

The length of these patch cords is usually 1, 2, 3, 5, 10 meters.

Patch cords can have the same type of connector on both ends or different types, in which case they form fiber optic patch cords like FC-LC or FC-SC.

In Iran, these connectors are commonly named Farhad (FC), Sara (SC), and Leila (LC) for easier memorization.
